The Beastie Boys if they'd been brought up in Stroud. Actually, more like their less streetwise cousins.

About The Austin Francis Connection

The Austin Francis Connection play Acoustic, melody driven Hip hop. Edi is the Vocalist, Mark plays Guitar, and Hobbit is a beatboxer. That's it...nothing too complex, nowt too hectic, just...nice. The influences of Urban Underground USA placed firmly in the ghettos of Gloucestershire....and invited in for a slice of cake.  A veteran of Glastonbury and Reading, Edi deconstructed his approach to music after years of jumping around and shouting a lot, and with Mark & Hobbit has echoed those changes in a ‘turn up, plug in & play’ aesthetic. Their songs cover topics from Funerals and Self Harm, to Cookery and Weather Forecasting. Less Eminem, more Morecambe & Wise, The Austin Francis Connection follow in the Grand English TraditionTM of taking Americana and hitting it for six. Having been greeted by an incredibly positive response within 2005’s live shows, the trio set about putting their laid back hip hop mutterings onto a recording and 2006 brought the debut EP “A Bit of a Shambles” which has been lapped up by several, along with other exclusive songs debuted via their MySpace. Packed out small venues and many smiling faces have led to larger venues and more gigs to come calling, so as Edi often says in relation to their gigs… “Ah Well, let’s see how it goes eh?!”   So sit back, relax and enjoy the audio equivalent of a nice cup of tea.

It’s time to get connected.
